Frequently Asked Questions
Review answers to common questions regarding our product lines, distribution network, and regulatory compliance.
-
What sterilization methods are compatible?
Standard Genesis containers are compatible with pre-vacuum steam and 100% ethylene-oxide cycles. Special low-temperature containers (identifiable by orange gaskets and handles) are designed for hydrogen peroxide systems like STERRAD and V-PRO.
-
Are they validated for Immediate Use Steam Sterilization (IUSS)?
Genesis containers are generally validated for IUSS, but users must verify the specific Instructions for Use (IFU) for their model to ensure compliance.
-
Do containers need to be dry before sterilization?
While steam sterilization introduces moisture, containers should not be saturated before starting. However, for STERRAD or ETO cycles, they must be 100% dry. After sterilization, any visible moisture inside indicates a “wet pack,” which is considered contaminated.
-
Are Genesis containers stackable?
Yes, Genesis containers are designed to be stackable to save space in both the sterilizer and sterile storage.
-
Can the filters be reused?
No. Genesis filters are designed for single-use only and must be discarded after each sterilization process.
-
How do I know if the container is still sterile?
Always check the tamper-evident arrows or locks; they provide a visual confirmation that the container has not been opened since sterilization.
